This course provides interactive, self-paced, online training in the Thrift Savings Plan (TSP), retirement, and financial planning. Develop a Personal Financial Plan guided by Debbie Mason, a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNERTM professional. Estimate your Federal retirement and describe other income sources and savings. Calculate potential savings growth to see if you need to save more. Learn about the potential risks and returns of cash, bonds, stocks, and international investments and their related TSP funds (G, F, C, S, and I). Learn how to balance risk and return, how to reduce investment risk, and how to choose investments for short-, intermediate-, and long-term goals. Compare benefits of tax-saving accounts (e.g., TSP, IRAs, TSP Roth 401(k) coming in 2012). Evaluate the TSP L funds and rollover options to and from the TSP.

Special FERS employees include Firefighters, Law Enforcement Officers, Air Traffic Controllers, Military Reserve Technicians, members of Congress, and Congressional employees.
